I thought that today’s make should be a bit of a game too….

What You’ll Need

  • 2 plastic cups – stacked one inside the other to strengthen the pom-pom launcher
  • 1 balloon – I had 2 to hand just in case we messed up the first attempt (which we did!)
  • A pom-pom
  • Scissors
  • Duct tape (not pictured)

We cut approximately two-thirds of the plastic cups off and then covered the sharp, cut edge with duct tape.

We cut the tip off the balloon and then pulled the cut, open end over the lip of the plastic cups.  We tied a knot in the end of the balloon and we were ready to go….

Put the pom-pom inside the launcher, pull back the knot on the balloon and let go!

Pom pom POP!!!

Boo went crazy for our homemade pom-pom launcher.  He kept trying to fire it at the santa decoration at the top of our Christmas tree and that pom-pom certainly could fly!

Day #45 Racing Rockets!

sara le rouxby Sara le Roux,  Owner and Inspirer at The Creation Station Penistone and District

Bonfire night certainly went off with a bang yesterday!! We sat at our living room window with the lights turned off and watched the sparkly, fiery rockets launching into the sky and exploding in a shower of twinkly lights.

For today’s activity I thought that Boo might like to kick off his socks and get his feet all painty…..rockets away!

What You’ll Need

  • Card
  • Paint – we used Crayola washable
  • Collage materials – crepe paper, shiny paper – whatever you have in!

Picture 007

We used the same method as we did in ‘Butterfly Baby’ and prepared our paint sponge ready to make some foot prints.

Picture 003

Boo put his foot on the sponge and immediately got the giggles…..’Cold Mummy!’ ‘Squish, Squish!’

We placed his foot onto the piece of card and voila!

Painty perfection!

Now with a little bit of ‘Mummy collage’ – with Boo as chief gluer – we give you……

‘Racing Rockets!’
